Jaylen Brown on performance in Game 2 win over Bucks

After a pedestrian performance in the Boston Celtics’ Game 1 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Jaylen Brown bounced back in major fashion on Tuesday night. Brown was arguably Boston’s best player on the court in Game 2 as the Celtics knocked out Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co., 109-86.

Brown started hot dropping 17 points in the opening period. The Celtics star finished with a game-high 30 points on a highly effective 11-of-18 from the floor, to go along with six treys, five rebounds and six assists in 38 minutes of action.

After his huge performance, Brown explained why he had to go into Game 2 with a winner or comeback mentality:

“The way you respond means everything in this league,” Brown said, via Mass Live’s Souichi Terada. “We didn’t play the way we wanted in the first game, and we couldn’t come back and lose another game at home. We knew we had to go out and play like our season was on the line, and we did. We did. We went out and fought from the jump.

Brown then went on to say that at this point in the season, he had his eyes set on the prize. The Celtics stud knows what’s at stake here and they’re going to do everything in their power to help their team:

“My whole life is on hiatus,” Brown said. “The only thing that matters is the playoffs. Day after day. We just have to do what we have to do to make sure we’re ready to perform. At this time of year, everyone has nagging injuries or issues they’re dealing with, so we can’t let that be an excuse. We have to find a mental and physical way to overcome whatever it is and do it.”
