Diabolic http://www.diabolic-officialsite.com/ Tampa, Florida’s Diabolic have been cranking out some of the most vicious and guttural death metal ever experienced by the human ear. Since their now, much sought after demos, 1996 demo and 1997’s “City Of The Dead”, Diabolic has been a force to be reckoned with in the death metal circles. “Supreme Evil” was the start to something very brutal, technical and insanely twisted... Since then they’ve managed to release some of the most memorable death metal ever laid to tape, with the likes of “Subterraneal Magnitude”, “Vengeance Ascending”, “Infinity Through Purification” and their come back demo “Possessed by Death”, after an almost four year hiatus from the death metal world. Fast forward to 2007 sees Diabolic returning with original core members drummer blastmaster Aantar Lee Coates, bassist/vocalist Paul Ouellette along with guitarist Kelly McLauchlin and new guitarist: RJ. This is by their most solid lineup to date. Now with the release of a fiery new demo, tracks such as “Chaos In Hell, Jaws Of Death, Engulf the Enchantress, and The Suffering Church” are a precursor to what is going to be unleashed upon the frail souls of this world. You’ve been warned: Prepare for a merciless Diabolic annihilation of your world! - (Read more)
drowning Me http://www.drowningme.com/ It all started back in 2003 when Icey launched a solo project called Phunk. Three demos were released and about a year later he came in contact with Ayam Management who believed in his material and wanted to help him find members for a real lineup. Ayam introduced a drummer named Antonio Baioni and it felt right immediately. After joining forces with vocalist Jesper Nyberg, guitarist Löken and basist Steve, Phunk released the demo "Shedding Skin" by the end of 2004. Unfortunately things didn't work out, and by January 2005, the only remaining members in the band were Icey and Tony. Desperate to hold on to the music they both believed in, they started holding auditions again. They tried out a handful of guitarists with no success until a guy named Martin Bohgard walked in and nailed every riff. They just couldn't say no, and Martin was "hired" by the next day. The trio had started working on new material when they got in touch with vocalist Arek Trzaska. He liked the material and had the voice the trio had been looking for. An old friend of Tony's, by the name of Moncho, joined in as basist and the bandsetting was full again. Since the sound and concept changed because of the lineup changes the band needed a new fresh start. drowning Me was born. However, after a rough fall with many different opinions and upsets, the band and Arek decided that the right thing to do was to go seperate ways. Again they were on the hunt for a new singer. The hunt was very successful indeed... - (Read more)
Heaven's Cry http://www.heavenscry.com “It's a time when new forms of media are emerging, and changing the world we live in. A new breath of artistic ideas is taking place! Such ideas have already launched a new episode of human experience into our laps, an episode full of unseen wonders and responsibilities.” –O.Q. Heaven's Cry was formed in the beginning of the 90's as a modern rock band with a progressive tangent. From a French part of Canada in the city of Montreal, Pierre St-Jean(vocals, guitars) and Sylvain Auclair(vocals, bass) decided to join their efforts, building a dual voice oriented band. Both had played clubs in several bands before HC and had various experiences in songwriting. The time had come to get on track with a serious project that would reflect their aspirations in a proper way. The band has been performing live for a while in front of considerable crowds, opening for bands like Marillion, Saga, Rick Emmett(Triumph). They recorded their first demo in 1993 and gained an immediate response in Europe. The demo was named 3rd album of the year in the prestigious German magazine "Heavy Oder Was". Olaf Quinzanos(guitars) joined a couple of months after and brought an original and inspired sound to the band. In 1995, the band signed with a Canadian label (Hypnotic Records) and recorded their first album called "Food For Thought Substitute" in early 1996. The album was released in Japan the same year and earned 13th metal album of the year in the reputed "Burrn! Magazine". It was released in Europe and Canada the following year. In 1997, most important European magazines finally got their hands on the album. Reviews were more than flattering for HC, voted album of the month in Germany, Italy, Holland, Czech Republic and many more. After some changes in the band line-up, René Lacharité(drums) and Eric Jarrin(guitar) joined the band in late 2000. With a new vital power growing in the band, HC focused its efforts on songwriting and getting ready to play live. - (Read more)
DAEDALUS http://www.progdaedalus.it/ Daedalus project takes its origin from the idea of creating something new and really original in the actual musical whirl. The constant research for a particular combination of musical elements rarely found in existing bands (complexity of multiple instrumental lines, stratificated more than harmonically linked, intriguing dissonances underlining inner thoughts and feelings, continuous evolving of tempo to create a sort of never ending stream, breaking of tonality edges) led us to choose such an extraordinary genre as progressive, opening to us an unlimited series of possibilities in composition and experimentation. The quest for Daedalus members started long time ago in Genoa (Italy) and passed through a tiring period of investigation in a quite limited panorama of prog musicians. Finally in april 2000 we joined together and started working hard to reach our so wished musical identity. In our music we try to combine a complex harmonic texture, elaborate rhythmic elements and clear melodic lines, melting and alternating different atmospheres in a gradual or sudden way, trying to create an overwhelming and fascinating musical journey while keeping the structure of the songs rather simple. Each member of the band contributed to define our style, drawing inspiration from traditional rock and metal, classical music and jazz, adding original elements and experimentation. Urged by a fascinating communion of interests, musical tastes an purposes we are trying to break out of the limits of the background in order to gain, if we merit, the dearest following of pure and loving hearts, whom our music is dedicated to. - (Read more)
