Laden with a very heavy Les Paul Gibson guitar and tired of rock, Bianca Jade decided to return to her classical roots and study opera at WAAPA. It was this experience that inspired her to seek more acoustic and intimate songs for her first solo outing, 2005’s ‘Taste It’. She then headed to London and New York to promote it and was so thrilled with the response in the Big Apple she returned in 2006, playing in the famed Greenwich Village and Lower East Side. East 3rd Street is, as the title suggests, heavily influenced by her time there.  The opening track made its place on the 2007 Kiss My WAMi compilation album, showing an artist confident in the bluesy-folk genre with a cruisy voice perfectly suited to the material.

laudia is an outstanding singer/songwriter who has shared stages with Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer, Steve Forbert, Tish Hinojosa, Kris Kristoffersen, Bill Morrisey, Willie Nelson, Darryl Purpose, Peter Rowan, Kevin So, Rosalie Sorrels and Bill Staines, among others. She is most often seen accompanied by her trusty sidekick, Bruce Kaplan, on mandolin, guitar and vocals and Mark Petrella on bass. FIABA born in'91 in Siracusa by Bruno Rubino, drummer of the band and author of songs, which brings together under this name some musicians known in the past and like him looking for a new sound. jallarhorn was formed in 1994 on the west coast of Finland, in the Swedish speaking area, by Jenny Wilhelms, Christopher Öhman (viola, mandola) and Jacob Frankenhaeuser (didgeridoo). The band started as a trio but became a quartet with percussion in 1996. The band has been a quartet ever since. 1997 the first CD Ranarop was released. The group was selected "Folk music group of the year 1997" and the cd was " Folk music cd of the year 1997" in Finland. 1998 the band started touring frequently on a professional basis with performances at international world, folk and jazz music festivals. Gjallarhorn has toured in Europe, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Japan. 1999 Gjallarhorn collaborated with the female choir "Florakˆren". For the choirs 55th anniversary Jenny arranged the Gjallarhorn tunes for female voices. 2000 The second CD Sjofn was released. It was amongst others awarded the "La Monde de la Musique CHOC" and "Trad Magazine Bravos!!!" . 2002 The third CD Grimborg was released. 2003 The CD Grimborg was awarded the prestigious French "Academie Charles Cros" prize and Gjallarhorn was nominated for the music prize of the Nordic Council of Ministries in 2003. 2004 The band celebrated its 10th anniversary with a tour in Japan, Sweden and Finland. The celebration was also notified by the Swedish Cultural Fund of Finland, who selected the band with Jenny Wilhelms for their annual honor award, given to artists in different fields of cultural and educational work. - (Read more)
